On the 18th of August 2023, 42 very excited Butler Primary School Choir students travelled by bus to RAC Arena with Mrs Marwick, Miss Stone and Mrs Barnett.
The bus arrived in the city at around 3pm before the doors of RAC Arena opened, so the students sat outside in the sunshine and enjoyed a very early dinner.
Once the Choir was inside the Arena, the rehearsals began and Manaia Hita had his chance to sing on stage with his vocal group for the song “Storming”. He sang extremely well and said he wasn’t that nervous.
There was a young talent show before the concert. Some of the Choir really liked the band “Retromode”. Mrs. Marwick liked Sofia Gale who is a very good 15 year old singer from Perth.
It was so exciting when the parents arrived and the concert began. The Choir’s favourite songs were “Gold”, “Brave”, “I am Australian” and “Circle of Life”. The teachers went on the stage and sang “Circle of Life” with all the students too.
A big thank you to Miss Stone and Mrs Barnett who were amazing helpers throughout the event.
The students are already looking forward to One Big Voice 2024.
Butler Primary school held its inaugural ANZAC Dawn Service this year. In true Butler PS tradition, students demonstrated respect and behaved impeccably.
This service was well supported by the Butler PS community and the invited guests. We were honoured to have a piper perform from the WAPOL Pipe Band, a former Butler PS student play The Last Post and Reveille and a Butler College student sing the New Zealand National Anthem.
These performances enhanced and added to the atmosphere of our service.
The P&C organised a fabulous Gunfire Breakfast after the service which everyone enjoyed.
