Three Year Old Pre-Kindy for 2017
After receiving resoundingly positive feedback from our school community, parents will be excited to know that Butler Primary School Three Year Old Pre- kindy will be running next year and parents may register and pay for Term One 2017 now.
The Three Year old Kindy is for children who will start Kindy in the following year of 2018. One of our wonderful and talented early childhood teachers, Mrs Alison Johnston, will be running the group for another exciting year. A parent stays with their child for the 9:30-11:30 session, assists with the activities and models listening and speaking behaviours to their child. The program includes number, pre- reading and writing activities, music and movement, painting, play dough and construction fun. Mrs Johnston delights in organising some very special animal visitors, creating very unique memories for both the children and parents.
Babies are welcome to accompany their parent and pre-kindy child to the playgroup but crawling siblings will require alternative care as it is important that the pre-kindy children are the focus of the program. The program has proven to greatly assist with the transition to Kindy the following year.
The Pre-kindy group will run slightly differently in 2017. The group will run on each second Wednesday (even weeks) of each term. On the alternate weeks (odd weeks) our Pre-kindy families will be welcome to come to Butler Primary School to play in the outside Kindy and Pre-primary playground and visit the school library to read and borrow a book during the normal session time.
As places are strictly limited, it is advisable to book, make payment and complete registration forms for your child at the school office now or at the start of the school year. The fees are $60 a term and include registration with Playgroup WA.
Students not Returning 2017
If your child will not be returning to Butler Primary School in 2017, please advise the school office in person or on 9562 1804 as soon as possible.

Assembly by PP3 and PP4
Students from PP3 and PP4 performed their assembly on Thursday, 24 November. This term we have been learning about community workers and how important each of their jobs are. The students dressed up and shared some knowledge about each of the occupations we have explored. We had some very brave students have a go at speaking into the microphone. Our assembly concluded with the Jump Jam song, ‘Stop, Drop and Roll’.
Mrs de la Motte, Mrs Adams- PP3
Miss Letcher, Mrs Park- PP4

Assembly by PP1 and PP2
In Week 8 students from PP1 and PP2 performed their assembly item about Bucket Filling and the Zones of Regulation. PP1 and PP2 performed four skits about bucket filling to teach the audience how they can fill a bucket to make people feel happy and good about themselves. They also showed the audience how they could dip from a bucket which may leave someone feeling sad and in the blue zone. They used their confident voices to sing “The Bucket Filling song” and “If You’re Happy”. PP1 and PP2 loved performing for the school and did a marvellous job!

From the Library
Wow! What a year 2016 was in the Butler Primary School library! We installed a new library information system, received new guided readers, welcomed our first ever Kindy students to school library borrowing, had a wonderful Book Fair and welcomed Mrs Dowrick to the library’s staff.
Many thanks to all the Butler Primary families who supported us throughout this year with Book Club orders and Book Fair purchases. Thank you also for encouraging your children to continue using library bags and return their library books each week.
Have a wonderful Christmas and a safe holiday and we will see you in 2017!
Mrs Pengelly and Mrs Dowrick

Chaplain’s Corner

Greetings Everyone!
Here we are in our final week of Term 4, and at the end of another school year.

Congratulations to all for your hard work, dedication and achievements throughout 2016!!
To our Year 6 Graduates, I wish you everything of the best for high school and the future ahead. This new chapter will be both exciting and challenging, embrace every opportunity it brings. Remember all you have learnt and stay true to the values you have been taught.
On behalf of Mrs Saunders, Mrs Richards, myself and the Kindy and Pre-Primary, we would like to extend a huge ‘THANK YOU’ to everyone who donated to “THE CHRISTMAS TOY APPEAL” this year. The toys have been donated to underprivileged and homeless children. We thank you for making a positive difference in their lives this Christmas, and for your generosity.
May you all enjoy a peaceful and joyous Festive Season ahead. I hope you are blessed by the company of loved ones, and you take the time to reflect on and celebrate the meaning Christmas holds for you. Have a safe and happy holiday. See you in 2017!

Kind regards,
Ms Hunter

Parent Parking
Parents are reminded that parking is not permitted on grassed kerbside areas around the Pre-primary car park and along Tollesbury Avenue, as well as the bricked median strip in Cambourne Parkway or across any footpaths. Please consider the safety of all other road users and pedestrians when parking and leaving schools grounds.
All usual road and parking rules apply around the school and parking fines are issued by rangers (who visit frequently) to those not adhering to the road rules. Please download the map below for parent parking information.
It is great to see that more families are walking their children to and from school or parking in the community centre car park and walking their children from there, helping to ease traffic congestion around the school.
